The YourPDX is a functional drug sensitivity test that is performed in personalized mouse models of an individual’s cancer. The YourPDX test employs patient-derived xenograft orthotopic models, a type of mouse model commonly used in cancer research. Once a tissue donor’s mouse models are fully developed, Certis scientists perform an individualized pharmacology test, whereby groups of five animals are treated with several possible treatment options. For 28 days, tumor volumes are measured weekly by murine-scale MRI to compare mouse model response to each anti-cancer drug or drug combination tested. Results from the test are shared with the patient’s treating oncologist, who may consider them when evaluating next-line treatment options. Please note that Certis cannot guarantee engraftment success. If mouse models fail to develop successfully, the YourPDX functional test cannot be performed.
